Waterproof zippers combine a coated or laminated tape with a sealed chain to stop water ingress at the seam. Performance depends as much on the seam-sealing method and coating as on the zipper itself, so the construction must be agreed before bulk production.

Q1. How is waterproof performance measured?
Usually by water-column pressure (mm) or by a spray test on the finished seam. State the value you need, and confirm whether it applies to the zipper alone or the sealed seam.
Q2. Can I seal it on my own equipment?
Yes, provided the sealing tape and parameters match the coating. We recommend a trial seam seal on your production equipment before bulk.
Q3. Which is better: coated tape or a laminated membrane?
It depends on the required pressure, the fabric and the sealing method. Send the construction and the target pressure and we will advise.
Q4. Does it stay flexible in cold weather?
Coated tapes stiffen at low temperature. Tell us the minimum service temperature so the coating can be selected accordingly.
Q5. Is the zipper still waterproof after many cycles?
Performance at the fold point degrades with cycles. Specify the expected cycle count and we will confirm the test method.
