Overview

Bag and garment hardware — buckles, D-rings, hooks, snaps, eyelets and chains — carries the load and defines the perceived quality of the finished product. Material grade, plating thickness and dimensional tolerance are the three things that decide whether a fitting survives real use.

Production Notes & QC Checkpoints

What decides whether this product performs in the field — and what to verify before each shipment:

CheckpointWhat goes wrongVerification
Load ratingState the working load and the direction of pull. A D-ring rated for a shoulder strap is not the same as one used as a hanging point.Static load test at 150% of working load
Plating thicknessThin plating wears through at contact points and shows base metal. Specify plating type and salt-spray hours.Salt-spray test per requirement; wear check at contact edges
Dimensional toleranceBuckles and rings that are outside tolerance will not accept the specified webbing width.Gauge-check inner width against tape width
Sharp edgesUnpolished edges cut webbing and thread. Confirm polishing for all visible metal parts.Touch test + webbing abrasion check
Colour consistencyMixed plating lots in one shipment look wrong on a finished bag. Keep plating lots together per PO.Compare lots to golden sample under D65

Buyer FAQ

Q1. How do I choose the right hardware for my webbing?

Match the inner width to the webbing width plus a small clearance, and confirm the load rating for the application. Send the webbing spec and the use case.

Q2. What finishes are available?

Common finishes include shiny and matte nickel, antique brass, gunmetal and painted colours. Availability depends on the base material — tell us the finish and we will confirm.

Q3. Can I get custom shapes or logos?

Custom moulds are possible for volume orders. Send a drawing or sample; we will advise on mould cost and lead time.

Q4. How is plating durability measured?

Normally by salt-spray hours and by an adhesion (tape-pull) test. State the hours you need in the PO so the plating process can be set accordingly.

Q5. Do you supply matching sets?

Yes — buckles, rings, hooks and sliders can be supplied as a colour-matched set from the same plating lot, which avoids shade differences on the finished product.

Quick Reference Card

  • Working load and pull direction stated
  • Inner width matched to webbing
  • Plating type + salt-spray hours
  • Edges polished (no burrs)
  • Same plating lot per PO
