Overview
The slider (puller head) is the single part most often blamed for a "bad zipper". Gauge fit, spring tension, surface finishing and the puller attachment all determine whether the zipper runs smoothly and locks reliably.
Production Notes & QC Checkpoints
What decides whether this product performs in the field — and what to verify before each shipment:
| Checkpoint | What goes wrong | Verification |
|---|---|---|
| Gauge mismatch | A slider that does not match the chain size causes jamming or self-opening (拉感卡滞). Always state chain size and chain type (metal / nylon / plastic) in the order. | Fit-test 20 sliders on the actual chain before shipment |
| Lock failure | A weak or mis-assembled spring lets the slider creep open (锁扣失灵). Confirm the lock type: auto-lock, semi-auto or pin-lock. | Lock test: 50 open/close cycles per lot |
| Plating or paint adhesion | Peeling comes from incomplete pre-treatment. Specify the finish and, for painted sliders, the pre-treatment method. | Adhesion test (tape pull) + salt spray per requirement |
| Deformation | Thin-wall sliders deform under side load or in bulk packing. Confirm packing method for fragile designs. | Sample check after transport simulation |
| Puller attachment | Pull-tab strength depends on the rivet or loop design. Confirm the load requirement if the puller will be pulled at an angle. | Pull-tab strength test per order requirement |
Buyer FAQ
Q1. How do I know which slider fits my zipper?
Match three things: chain type (metal, nylon, moulded), chain size (#3/#5/#8/#10) and lock type. Send a chain sample and we will confirm the matching slider.
Q2. What is the difference between auto-lock and pin-lock?
Auto-lock sliders lock when the pull tab is released, preventing creep. Pin-lock sliders lock only at a chosen position. Garments usually use auto-lock; some bag and upholstery designs use pin-lock.
Q3. Can sliders be branded?
Yes — engraving, embossing or logo plating can be applied to the body or puller, subject to the mould and finish. Send artwork and we will confirm feasibility.
Q4. Will the finish match my existing zipper?
Send a physical reference. Plating and paint batches are compared under D65 light against the approved sample, and the sample is retained for repeat orders.
Q5. Do you supply sliders separately from zippers?
Yes. Sliders can be ordered as components with a stated chain type and size, which is common for cut-and-sew factories that assemble in-house.
